Obsidian is a conceptual album around the story of a girl who fights against everything and everyone for her rights, in a futuristic wasted world, ruled in slaving dictatorship.
Nirtholiel (Nirth) lives in a not so distant country, in a not so distant future. It's a polluted world with not enough resources to keep mankind's growing numbers fed, where water and other basic needs are a privilege.
Born a slave, Nirth has to work her entire life to feed the wealthy people and is watched and controlled via high tech surveillance equipment.
Unhappy and unable to help herself and the people she cared about with the income slaves were provided with, she joined a resistance group with some people she trusts, which silently conspired against the government and the wealthy scum.
They started breaking into facilities, stealing resources, reeking havoc so that people would feel inspired to join the rebellion.
Nirtholiel, driven by passion and righteousness, was rather stong, both physically and mentally, and that strength made her a leader of the revolution.
However, one day, while raiding a government's building for resources, Nirth gets caught by the police.
Judged and condemned to spend her life in prison, she is put to sleep. Then she is induced a dream in which she's but a part of a stone rock floating in the void, her whole paralyzed body made of stone, and a strange gravity pulling her head up as if she was upside down for eternity. Welcome to the Obsidian dream.
